As part of the Upper American River Project in the El Dorado National Forest, the Loon Lake Reservoir produces enough clean hydroelectric energy to power 200,000 homes in the Sacramento area.

Throughout the year, Loon Lake water levels can fluctuate significantly.   As a reservoir, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) monitors lake levels as well as inflows and outflows from the lake.

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

With an elevation of 6,400 feet, Loon Lake also offers a tremendous amount of recreation opportunities on and around the lake as part of the Crystal Basin Recreation Area.
